Joe Dator is a cartoonist/writer from New York City. He describes his creative process as being similar to finding an avocado amongst the tomatoes at the supermarket; "It almost never happens, but when it does the feeling is undeniably sexual".

He was born in The Bronx, the home of such comedy greats as Carl Reiner, Robert Klein, and Colin Powell. In fact, The Bronx, NY has been the birthplace of some of the most talented, creative and electrifying artists of our time. Oh, and Jennifer Lopez, too.

Joe Dator spent his formative years in the 1970s, which were sometimes called "The Me Decade", but can more accurately be labelled "The Decade When They Came Out With The Most Retarded Stuff Ever". It was growing up in the 70s that began Joe Dator's deep seated and lifelong love affair with crap.

As a cartoonist his work has appeared in publications too numerous to mention, including The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, Sports Illustrated for Kids, and E-Mail.This.Book!, a 1996 collection of computer cartoons so wildly outdated now that even a dot matrix printer wouldn't laugh. You can buy it at Amazon.com - for less than a dollar (free with purchase of a Segway).

In 2000 he contributed a number of sketches to Britain's acclaimed "Aaagh! It's The Mr Hell Show!". Last year the show won a Gemini award (the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy) for best animated series. He also served as a writer/producer on Channel Four's one-off special "So Many Santas"

In 2001 he created WEBNETNEWSLINK©, correctly surmising that two things the world needed more of were parody news and unsolicited email.

In 2005 he wrote, directed and starred in "Citizen Candy Man", a short mockumentary that imagines the characters from the 1971 cult classic "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" as they might appear today. See the official site here.

Since July 2005 he has been working on this page. He hopes to finish it by

Joe Dator Sits Down For A Brief Chat With Dracula

Dracula: What's Found Photo Theater all about?
Joe Dator: It's about me playing God. I've always found pictures in the street and given the people in them names and personalities. It's like an elaborate puppet show with strangers.
Dracula: Is that legal?
Joe Dator: Yes. It's all covered in the historic trial of Finders/Keepers vs. Losers/Weepers.

Dracula: Why Ben Franklin in Star Wars?
Joe Dator: Why not? I mean is it any more absurd than going back and making Greedo shoot first or taking the guns out of E.T.? In the digital age anything can be done, but maybe not everything should be.

Dracula: When did WEBNETNEWSLINK© start?
Joe Dator: It first appeared as a weekly newsletter in January 2001. I've brought it back by popular demand, after taking a year off by popular demand.
Dracula: Isn't WEBNETNEWSLINK© just another knockoff of "The Onion"?
Joe Dator: I'd like to think we set the bar a lot lower. We are to "The Onion" what Benny Hill is to S. J. Perelman.

Dracula: I admire your web design work. Did you really design all of those sites yourself?
Joe Dator: No, I had help from a monkey.

Dracula: Thank you Joe Dator for sitting down and chatting with me.
Joe Dator: Well, thank you Dracula. At first I was afraid you might try to drink my blood.
Dracula: Oh no, I'm off the blood. From now on it's fajitas, fajitas, fajitas!
